Our Hotel & Restaurants’ Cover is designed for hotels ranging from small cafes, restaurants to tourist hotels of first-class construction.

We provide cover for the following licensed establishments:

  1. Hotels
  2. Restaurants
  3. Nightclubs
  4. Discotheques
  5. Casinos
  6. Bars

You may select from the following section:

Section A: Fire & Perils (Mandatory)

Insures buildings and contents against; fire, explosion, lightning, earthquake, riot, strike, malicious damage, storm, flood, burst pipe, impact by aircraft, road vehicles, and related perils.

Section B: Machinery Breakdown

Protects your working machinery for the loss against sudden and unforeseen damage to machinery whilst in operation.

Section C: Machinery Consequential loss

  • This policy provides cover for financial loss suffered consequence from a machinery breakdown. This policy must be issued concurrently with the Machinery Breakdown Insurance policy.

Section D: Burglary

Covers any theft or attempted theft including damage to building and contents e.g. TV, Video, Light and Sound Equipment, Stock and Materials in Trade including Wines, Spirits and Tobacco.

Section E: Money

Provides cover for the loss of money in direct transit or on premises including damage to safes or strong room caused by theft or any attempt to break into.

Section F: All Risks

Protects specified valuables and equipment of a business against loss from theft, fire or other perils.

Section G: Plate Glass

Provides cover against accidental breakage of fixed glass windows or doors.

Section H: Goods in transit

Provides “all risks” cover to the insured’s property or goods for which the insured is responsible while being transported within Kenya.

Perishable goods cover is restricted to accidents only.

Section I: Work Injury Benefits Act

Provides cover for bodily injuries by accident or occupational diseases to all employees while in the course of their work. Complies with the Work Injury Benefits Act 2007.

Section J: Employer’s liability

Employers Liability Policy provides Indemnity to the employer against Legal Liability under Common Law for damages and claimant’s costs and expenses of litigation in respect of Bodily Injury by accident or occupational disease caused to Employees during the period of Insurance and arising out of and in the course of Common Law or Statutory Duty by the Employer.

Section K: Group Personal Accident

Provides cover for accidental bodily injuries or accidental death of the insured.

Section L: Public Liability

Provides cover for all sums which the insured shall be legally liable to pay as damages for accidental bodily injury and/ or damage to property of third parties including legal costs and expenses incurred with the written consent of the company.

Section M: Political Violence & Terrorism

Physical loss or physical damage to the Buildings and Contents which belong to the Insured or for which the Insured is legally responsible, directly caused by one or more of the following perils occurring during the Policy Period and in respect of which the Insured has purchased cover as specified in item of Schedule:

  1. Act of Terrorism;
  2. Sabotage;
  3. Riots, Strikes and/or Civil Commotion;
  4. Malicious Damage;
  5. Insurrection, Revolution or Rebellion;
  6. Mutiny and/or Coup d’Etat;
  7. War and/or Civil War.

To buy our Hotel Insurance cover:

  1. Provide all the details for your business that you would like insured.
  2. A quote will be prepared and submitted to you.
  3. Provide documentations i.e. Proposal Form, Corporate PIN, Certificate of Incorporation etc.
  4. Pay for your Insurance Premium and enjoy your cover.

  • Notify us of all claims by sending an email to gbclaims@resolution.co.ke
  • Complete the relevant claim form
  • Attach the relevant documentation e.g. police abstracts, invoices etc.
